I currently have 2 preying mantis as pets... a European Mantis and a Canadian ground Mantis. they make great pets but are messy eaters.. and they dont eat eachother in the wild they only do it in captivity as a survival thing... but after they mate some males do get eaten, but most females cant fly so most males get away.

ali you are so lucky you did not kill it because you would be in so much trouble. oh and i know some facts about then like they are the only insect that can turn side to side in a full 180 degree angle or that they are closely related to the cockroch i knoe ewwww! i also learned more like 1 of the smallest praying mantises is only 1 centimeter. but what really grabed my attetion is where there ear is it is in such a strange place. aslo another thing is they can see with there eyes up to 60 feet away that is so far. so if you are doing a project these are just a few things you can use for it.

I am doing an 'insect' project for school and we have to kill 5 living insects and i happened to find a Praying Mantis. I couldn't kill her, so instead i made her a habitat and she is now going to be a live bio project for extra credit. i enjoy her company. she is so wonderful and cute. i love watching her. I love praying mantis now!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
